A.Prasanna Kumar, Director Centre for Policy Studies is former Regional Director National Maritime Foundation, Visakhapatnam Chapter(September 2009 - September 2012), former President Visakha Music Academy (June 2004 - June 2011), former President Visakhapatnam Veterans Tennis Association (2000-2003) and former Rector and retired Professor of Politics, Andhra University. He was a member of the Academic Council of Sri Sathya Sai University, Prasanthinilayam for six years.
He was All India Radio’s sports commentator 1964-2000 on tennis, cricket and badminton. Among the running commentaries done by him were: ASIAD 82, First and Second Masters and Grand Prix in badminton, over ten Davis Cup ties and ATP Challenger tennis tournaments, and several cricket commentaries on zonal, national and international matches. He was a columnist for Indian Express (Vijayawada) from 1964 to 1985 writing a weekly column Sports Parade and a fortnightly column Dolphin Diary. Since 2002 his weekly column in Deccan Chronicle is published every Sunday (AP edition)
